The following job is available in our Rochester, NY office-  

 

Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Rochester is looking for a motivated team player to join our BalancedCare department as a Financial Specialist. We are looking for a candidate who can effectively resolve problems, which includes managing financial incomes and prioritizing client obligations. Our vision for this person is to grow with the Department and represent the agency in a positive manner at all times. The Financial Specialist will complete all on-going Social Security forms and reporting to maintain payeeship along with maintaining all accounting for clients, Social Security, and auditors.

 

The position requires day to day tasks including-  

 

  • Data entry to generate payment of client's financial obligations as needed

  • Sort incoming mail and process appropriately

  • Answer incoming calls from clients and case workers

  • Take referrals by phone 

  • Interview potential clients and assist with completing a proposed budget

  • Understanding of Social Security policies and procedures

  • Other tasks, as assigned by management

 

This position requires working with diverse populations and requires effective communication and decision making skills.

As a condition of employment, candidates must successfully complete a background screen and drug test.

 

 Education:

  • Associate's degree in Finance/Accounting or relevant experience

 

Relevant Work Experience:

 

  • 1-3 years of direct customer contact
  • Background in social work desired
  • Phone experience a plus

 

 Other desired skills:

 

  • Understanding of Social Security policies and procedures
  • Work experience with diverse populations
  • Experience with budgeting and bill pay software
  • Experience working on Government contracts desirable
